Dog Adoption
All Animal Aid dogs are current on all shots, are heartworm tested and current on heartworm preventative.  All dogs are spayed or neutered if of age.  If not, a spay/neuter certificate is provided and a contract signed by the adoptive parent agreeing to a date by which time the dog will be altered.  All dogs are microchipped.   Adoption fee for dogs is $95.00

Animal Aid volunteers perform a vet check on potential adopters to ensure any current or previously owned animals were vetted in a responsible manner.  Volunteers also perform a home visit to ensure our dogs and your home are a perfect fit.  Our goal is to place each and everyone one of our dogs into a forever, loving home.

Meet our newest foster, Jo Jo .

She is about 18 months old and is a apparently a Schnauzer mix.    Jo Jo is both adorable and very smart!  She's picking up quite the variety of tricks including agility training (weave polls and jump rings) with her foster mom.  She is also very photogenic!  If you're looking for a little girl who is as smart as she is cute - you might want to meet Jo Jo !!

Meet Karly!  She is approximately 2.5 years old and is a type of border collie mix.  She is a very small girl and has apparently had a tough time in life.   Karly was trapped some time ago running on her own and half starved.  She doesn't make it to many adoption days because she is very fearful and untrusting of new people.  It has taken quite some time for a handful of our volunteers to earn her trust.  But those who have find reward in her joyful greetings and multiple kisses.   Karly is not a dog for just anyone, she needs someone dedicated to socialization and someone who can truly be her leader.  If you're interested in getting to know Karly, and allowing her to get to know you, one of our volunteers would be happy to set arrange a meeting!

Bear has been adopted!!!

This is Bear, a 3 to 4 year old Border Collie Mix.  Bear is blind and was rescued while dodging and being dodged by traffic.  Bear would make a wonderful companion in either a single dog home or with someone who has experience with blind dogs

This is Gus and he's a 7 to 8 month old possible Whippet mix.  Gus wandered, limping onto the porch of a nice couple.  They contacted Animal Aid and through our valuable participating vets it was determined that he needs knee surgery.  They feel Gus is young enough that he should make a full recovery!  Lucky this little boy wandered onto the right porch!!  Gus loves everyone, including other dogs and cats.  Is Gus the dog for you??  Are you the person for him?Download adoption questionnaire

This is Prancer, although some call her Grace.   That's because it's by grace she is still alive.  Had it not been for the efforts of local police officers, a stranger passing by, Animal Aid Rescue Volunteers and an amazing emergency veterinarian, this girl would have lost her life on the side of the road.  It's been a long recovery but this girl is as strong and healthy as ever.  She is a 3 years old pit mix, medium height, housebroken and loves to snuggle on the couch.  However, Prancer shouldn't be in a home with small pets such as small dogs, cats or rabbits.   Download adoption questionnaire

This handsome man is Marty.  Marty is 3 year old pit bull.  He was rescued by police officers after being tied out in a front yard half starved to death.  Marty is a good boy who wants nothing more than to play with a toy give you kisses.  Marty's only problems come from his previous abuse and neglect.  Marty is food aggressive around other dogs.  People can feed him out of their hand, he has no problem with that.  But when it comes to his food, a treat or a toy, Marty doesn't like to share with other dogs

Presenting Scrappy!  He is an 8 to 9 year old Pekingese who was rescued, found laying out in a field, unable to walk.  Scrappy has earned his name!  With the help of his loving blonde foster mom, he not only began to walk, but turned down right "scrappy".  The joke now is he prefers blondes, but the truth is he is typical for his breed.  He prefers his own person and doesn't have a whole lot of patience with others.  After all, his breed was originally bred for royalty and he seems to know that!   But if you're lucky enough to be his person, he's a sweet, lovable, give you kisses and squeak his toy cute little boy!  If you're not lucky enough to be his person, like his foster moms husband, you should just look the other way ...

Introducing Pudge (aka Hot Fudge Pudge!).  This big guy was found running loose on a busy road.  Fortunate for him an Animal Aid volunteer was driving by with her daughter and they stopped to help him (the daughter came up with his name, apparently this guy was a bit overweight at the time!).  There was no response to the "found" ad and calls to local vets couldn't turn up an owner (Pudge was not microchipped).  We're not sure on his age but are guessing he's somewhere around 3 years.  He appears to be a lab mix and would do best in a home that allows him to be active.
This is Lady, she's a 15 month old cattle dog mix and was a rescue.    Lady was in need of urgent medical care and was surrendered to authorities when a concerned neighbor reported her condition.  Lady is all better now and ready for her new home.  She is a playful, happy dog but can still get shy in new situations.
