Many times individuals, organizations, and business's host an event on
behalf of Animal Aid. We would like to thank them and acknowledge
their work!  Without these types of events we would not be able
accomplish the good that we do!

Biscuits Pet Center has been a good friend to the Homeless Animals of the
community.  Recently they hosted an Adoption Fair and Hotdog Sale.  All proceeds from the
event were split amongst all the Animal organizations present!  Thank you Biscuits for lending
a paw to the cause!

Michelle Crean & Sue Burkhard have long been aware of the high cost of medical treatment for
Animal Aid's rescued animals.  They have also both been working for years on bringing Animal Aid
and the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan closer together.  Michelle uses her talent at
crochetting to make Cat Balls and Sue uses her sewing skills to make CatNip Toys.  These toys are
then donated and sold with all the proceeds going directly to the Medical Funds of both Animal
Aid and the Humane Society.  To date Michelle & Sue have made over 5000 toys!  This is a great
example of how a "little thing" can reap great rewards!  Look for these toys at Nickerson Animal
Health Care Center or at special events sponsored by both organizations.  With your help those $1
toys will continue to help pay for the medical bills of those animals who need it most!

Martha Fenton recently hosted a Tupperware Book Party with a portion of the proceeds to be
donated to Animal Aid.  Over $200 was raised to help support Animal Aid.  Martha and her
husband Bill are faithful foster volunteers who are currently fostering a mom, Hope, and her 7
newborn puppies.  Hope came to Animal Aid after the police found her lying in a mud puddle in
an alley in Benton Harbor.  Large and far along in her pregnancy, she was extremely malnourished
and suffering from several medical problems. Due to her fragile condition only 7 out of 11 of
Hope's puppies lived and immediately after delivery Hope suffered from near fatal complications
and an infection.  The Fenton's have been working hard to raise funds to help pay for Hope and
her puppies ongoing care!  Thanks Martha & Bill!

Becky Cooper has been a faithful Animal Aid volunteer for years and she is always looking for
new ways to help out.  Becky has a booth at St. Joseph's Antiques on the Bluff each month
through the summer months.  For the past couple of years Becky has included a donation table
for Animal Aid which includes Beanie Baby toys for the kids, cat nip toys, pet related books and
other items available for a donation to Animal Aid.  Sometimes it is the simpliest ideas that help the most.
Becky's steady donations to Animal Aid from her booth help us with a consistent donation income.

Thanks Becky!

Scott Morris, Sue Burkhard, Diane Rademaker, Shirley Skala, Becky Cooper & Cindy
Bravender
decided that Animal Aid needed money and that they had the ability to help raise
funds. Teaming together they Scott, Sue & Diane hosted two seperate rummage sales with
proceeds being donated to Animal Aid.  Shirley, Cindy & Becky recruited donations for the sale.
Through their combined efforts over $400 was raised for Animal Aid proving that a few people
CAN make a difference and that every penny helps!  We appreciate their time and generosity
and hope their efforts will inspire others!

Thanks to Abbey Donoghue at the Berrien County Courthouse and her
co-workers. Abbey has spearheaded a "bottle and can drive" in the
breakrooms at the courthouse. Employees can donate their cans and
bottles to Animal Aid and Abbey cashes them in donating the money or
purchasing supplies for Animal Aid.  Last month County employees
through this program donated 32lbs of dog food and 20lbs of kitty
litter!

Now Abbey is also spearheading a "Pennies For Pets" Donation drive
at the courthouse! Thank you Abbey and all the County Employees who
support our Animals!
