Volunteers
Why Does Animal Aid Need Volunteers?
Because Animal Aid has no paid employees, volunteers are involved in and operate every facet of the organization.
Animal Aid was founded in 1979. Since then thousands of animals have been served by our volunteers.
Volunteers do everything from Emergency rescue of seriously ill and injured animals, operating our lost and
found hotline, fostering dogs and cats awaiting adoption, and helping at fundraising events to help pay the bills.
Volunteers also process paperwork, design and publish event posters and flyers, maintain a website, and do
community education programs. Everything Animal Aid does in the community is thanks to our volunteers!
A Word From Our Foster Parents!
“When you are fostering an animal you KNOW you are making a difference every day, because
you can see that the animal in your care is safe and loved.”
“Fostering animals isn’t for everyone. Some people don’t have the strength to let go, but fostering
a pet is like being a parent, you start out with this needy being and with love and care and a gentle
hand you help and guide them until they are ready to move to the next phase of their life...a new home!”
“People say they couldn’t do what I do, but I don’t understand how they could not. These homeless
creatures are depending on us to get them out of the mess that humans created and yet so many
humans just look the other way. I know that I am not looking the other way, I am helping to make
our community a better place for all!”
